Mukhtasar Bukhari

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he distributed some sheets among the women of Madinah, and a very fine sheet was left. One of those sitting with him said, "O Commander of the Faithful! Give this sheet to the granddaughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who is in your wedlock." They meant Umm Kulthum bint Ali. So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Umm Sulayt (may Allah be pleased with her) is more deserving of it. She was an Ansari woman. She had pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "On the day of Uhud, she used to bring water skins filled with water for us."
