Mukhtasar Bukhari

When our master Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) was besieged, he climbed to a high place and appeared before the rebels and said, "I ask you by Allah, and I give this oath only to the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Whoever buys the well of Rumah (by name) and dedicates it for the Muslims, he will be granted Paradise.' So I bought it (and dedicated it). Do you not know that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Whoever equips the warriors for the Battle of Tabuk, he will be granted Paradise.' So I provided the equipment." (The narrator) says that the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) affirmed Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
