Hadith 1103

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and when he saw Uhud, he said: "I do not wish that if this mountain were turned into gold for me, even a single dinar from it would remain with me after three days, except for that dinar which I keep aside for the payment of a debt." Then he (peace be upon him) said: "Those who possess much wealth, their good deeds are very few, except for the one who spends his wealth like this, but such people are few." And he (peace be upon him) said (to Sayyiduna Abu Dharr): "Stay at your place until I come to you." Then he (peace be upon him) went ahead a little, and I heard a (terrifying) sound, so I intended to go to him, but then I remembered his words: Stay at your place until I come to you. So when he (peace be upon him) came, I said: O Messenger of Allah! What was that sound I heard? He (peace be upon him) said: "Did you hear it?" I replied: Yes. He (peace be upon him) said: "Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: Whoever from your Ummah dies in the state that he does not associate anything with Allah, he will enter Paradise." I said: Even if he does such and such (major sins)? He said: Yes."
