Hadith 1185
حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْبَرْمَكِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأُوَيْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ سَيِّدُكُمْ يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ ؟ ، قَالُوا : الْجَدُّ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَلَى أَنَّا نُبَخِّلُهُ ، فَقَالَ : وَأَيُّ دَاءٍ أَدْوَأُ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ ، بَلْ سَيِّدُكُمُ الْجَعْدُ الْقَطَطُ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْجَمُوحِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، إِلا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الأُوَيْسِيُّ
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Banu Salamah! Who is your chief?" They said: "Our chief is Jad bin Qais, but we attribute miserliness to him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What disease can be greater than miserliness? Therefore, your chief is Ja'd bin Qattat bin Amr bin Jamuh."
