Allah's grace and mercy for the sick and the traveler
Hadith 1147
حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ أَبُو الْجَارُودِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوَّادُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَكْتُبُ لِلْمَرِيضِ أَقْصَى مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ فِي صِحَّةٍ مَا دَامَ فِي وَثَاقِهِ ، وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ فِي حَضَرِهِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ مِسْعَرِ بْنِ كِدَامٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، إِلا رَوَّادٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “For a sick person, the good deeds that he used to do in good health are written for him during his illness. Similarly, for a traveler, the good deeds that he used to do while at home are written for him during his journey.”
