Description of ruqyah for the evil eye
Hadith 1141
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ مَرْدَوَيْهِ الأَهْوَازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَنَا صَبِيُّ يَشْتَكِي ، فَقَالَ : مَا لَهُ ؟ ، فَقُلْنَا : اتَّهَمْنَا بِهِ الْعَيْنَ ، فَقَالَ : أَلا تَسْتَرْقُونَ له مِنَ الْعَيْنِ ؟ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، إِلا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ
Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and there was a child with us who was ill. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is wrong with him?" We said: We suspect he is affected by the evil eye. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not recite ruqyah (incantation) for him against the evil eye?"
