Description of the revelation of the verse of hijab
Hadith 1116
حَدَّثَنَا كُوشَاذُ بْنُ شَهْمَرَدَانَ أَبُو نَصْرٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " أَنَا أَوَّلُ النَّاسِ ، عَلِمَ بِآيَةِ الْحِجَابِ لَمَّا نزلت ، قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لا تَدْخُلْ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ ، فَمَا مَرَّ عَلَيَّ يَوْمٌ كَانَ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، إِلا صَالِحٍ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the verse of Hijab was revealed, I was the first to know about it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do not go to the women." Never did a day more difficult than that day come upon me.
