Respect for anything bearing the name of Allah
Hadith 1093
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْغَفَّارِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الرُّؤَاسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ طَلْقِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّخَعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَا مِنْ كِتَابٍ يَلْقَى بِمَضِيعَةٍ مِنَ الأَرْضِ إِلا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ مَلائِكَةً يَحُفُّونَهُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهِمْ وَيُقَدِّسُونَهُ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَلِيًّا مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِهِ ، فَيَرْفَعَهُ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، وَمَنْ رَفَعَ كِتَابًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ فِيهِ اسْمٌ مِنْ أَسْمَاءِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى رَفَعَ اللَّهُ اسْمَهُ فِي عِلِّيِّينَ ، وَخَفَّفَ عَنْ وَالِدَيْهِ الْعَذَابَ ، وَإِنْ كَانَا كَافِرِينَ "، لا يُرْوَى عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a book is thrown in a place where it is likely to be lost on the earth, Allah sends His angels there, who surround it with their wings and keep it pure, until Allah sends one of His friends (awliya) who picks it up from the earth. And whoever picks up any written thing from the earth in which there is one of the names of Allah, Allah raises his name in 'Illiyyin, and Allah lightens the punishment from his parents, even if they were disbelievers."
