Hadith 1073
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصِّينِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ ، إِنَّكَ مَا دَعَوْتَنِي وَرَجَوْتَنِي غَفَرْتُ لَكَ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِيكَ ، وَلَوْ أَتَيْتَنِي بِمِلْءِ الأَرْضِ خَطَايَا لَقِيتُكَ بِمِلْءِ الأَرْضِ مَغْفِرَةً ، مَا لَمْ تُشْرِكْ بِي شَيْئًا ، وَلَوْ بَلَغَتْ خَطَايَاكَ عَنَانَ السَّمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَغْفَرْتَنِي لَغَفَرْتُ لَكَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، إِلا قَيْسٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ الصِّينِيُّ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: ‘O son of Adam! As long as you call upon Me and have hope in Me, I will forgive you whatever your condition may be. And if you come to Me with sins filling the earth, I will come to you with forgiveness and mercy filling the earth, as long as you do not associate partners with Me. If your sins reach up to the height of the sky and then you seek forgiveness from Me, I will forgive you.’”
