Allah's mercy upon the intelligent believer
Hadith 1031
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَبُو يُوسُفَ الْقَلُوسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرُّومِيُّ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "أَنَا الشَّاهِدُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ لا يَعْثُرَ عَاقِلٌ إِلا رَفَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ لا يَعْثُرَ إِلا رَفَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ لا يَعْثُرَ إِلا رَفَعَهُ ، حَتَّى يَصِيرَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، إِلا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرُّومِيُّ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَبُو يُوسُفَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I bear witness before Allah that when an intelligent person slips, Allah elevates him even higher; then when he stumbles, Allah elevates him even higher; then if he slips again, Allah raises him up until he enters Paradise."
