Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever performs three deeds, trusting in Allah and seeking reward from Him, then it becomes a right upon Allah to help him and to bless him in his work. (1) Whoever strives to free a slave, trusting in Allah and seeking reward, then it is incumbent upon Allah to help him and to bless him in this deed. (2) Likewise, whoever marries a woman, trusting in Allah and seeking reward, then Allah has made it incumbent upon Himself to help him and to bless him in this deed. (3) Likewise, whoever revives and cultivates dead land, trusting in Allah and seeking reward, then it becomes incumbent upon Allah to help him and to bless him in his work.”
