Description of those deprived of Allah's mercy
Hadith 1017
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْفَزَارِيُّ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "مَنْ أَصْبَحَ حَزِينًا عَلَى الدُّنْيَا أَصْبَحَ سَاخِطًا عَلَى رَبِّهِ ، وَمَنْ أَصْبَحَ يَشْكُو مُصِيبَةً نزلت بِهِ ، فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُو اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَمَنْ تَضَعْضَعَ لِغَنِيٍّ لِيَنَالَ مِمَّا فِي يَدَيْهِ أَسْخَطَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِ ، وَمَنْ أُعْطِيَ الْقُرْآنَ وَدَخَلَ النَّارَ أَبْعَدَهُ اللَّهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، إِلا وَهْبُ اللَّهِ ، وَكَانَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever becomes distressed over worldly matters, it is as if he is angry with his Lord; and whoever complains about a calamity that has befallen him, it is as if he is complaining against Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; and whoever shows humility before a wealthy person in order to obtain something from the wealth he possesses, Allah will be angry with him; and whoever has been given the Noble Qur'an and yet enters Hell, Allah will distance him from His mercy."
