Hadith 972
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication when going to sleep: "«اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ وَكَلِمَاتِكَ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ اللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ تَكْشِفُ الْمَغْرَمَ وَالْمَأْثَمَ اللّٰهُمَّ لَا يُهْزَمُ جُنْدُكَ وَلَا يُخْلَفُ وَعْدُكَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ سُبْحَانَكَ وَبِحَمْدِكَ» "O Allah! I seek refuge in Your majestic Self and in Your perfect words from the evil that is under Your control. O Allah! You are the One who settles debts and forgives sins. O Allah! Your army cannot be defeated, Your promise cannot be broken, the wealth of the wealthy will be of no avail before You. Glory be to You, I praise You."
