Hadith 961
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man who was afflicted with a calamity, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you prayed to your Lord to hasten the calamity upon you?" He said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not ask your Lord for well-being? You should have said: ﴿رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ﴾ 'Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.'"
