Description of the prohibition of reviling the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 902
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَكِيعِيُّ ، بِمِصْرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَاحِ الدُّولابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "لا تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي ، فَلَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْفَقَ مثل أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِهِمْ وَلا نَصِيفَهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، إِلا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ، وَرَوَاهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not speak ill of my Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), for if any one of you were to give gold equal to Mount Uhud in charity, it would not reach even a mudd of theirs, nor even half a mudd."
