Description of the order of entry of the Companions into Paradise
Hadith 859
حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو مَيْمُونٍ الصُّورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : "أَنَا سَابِقُ الْعَرَبِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ، وَصُهَيْبٌ سَابِقُ الرُّومِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ، وَبِلالٌ سَابِقُ الْحَبَشَةِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ، وَسَلْمَانُ سَابِقُ الْفُرْسِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، إِلا بَقِيَّةُ ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I will enter Paradise ahead of all the Arabs, and Suhayb will go towards Paradise ahead of all the Romans, and Bilal will enter Paradise ahead of all the Abyssinians, and Salman will enter ahead of all the Persians."
