Hadith 669
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، "مِمَّا أَضْرِبُ يَتِيمِي ؟ ، قَالَ : مِمَّا كُنْتَ ضَارِبًا مِنْهُ وَلَدَكَ غَيْرَ وَاقٍ مَالَكَ بِمَالِهِ ، وَلا مُتَأَثِّلٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَالا "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، إِلا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازُ ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says that I asked: O Messenger of Allah! With what should I discipline my orphan? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "With whatever you discipline your own children. Do not become one who protects your own wealth with his wealth, nor make his wealth the basis for giving zakat."
