Explanation of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) prophecy about the destruction of Kisra and Caesar
Hadith 587
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ التَّمَّارُ الْكُوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الأَجْلَحِ ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "إِذَا هَلَكَ كِسْرَى فَلا كِسْرَى ، وَإِذَا هَلَكَ قَيْصَرُ فَلا قَيْصَرَ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِي ، لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبَانَ ، إِلا ابْنُ الأَجْلَحِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مِنْجَابٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When Kisra is destroyed, there will be no Kisra after him, and when Caesar is destroyed, there will be no Caesar after him. And by the One in Whose hand is my soul, you will spend their treasures in the way of Allah.”
