Explanation of the attack on the people of Khaybar
Hadith 581
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْكُوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى الأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " أَغَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَهْلِ خَيْبَرَ وَهُمْ غَارُّونَ ، فَقَالُوا : مُحَمَّدٌ وَالْخَمِيسَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، إِلا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, attacked the people of Khaybar while they were unaware, so they said: By Allah! This is Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and his army. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah is the Greatest! Khaybar is destroyed. Whenever we descend into the courtyard of a people, the morning of those who have been warned becomes evil."
