Hadith 542
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوُحَاظِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : غَلا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " سَعِّرْ لَنَا ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ ، وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلِمَةٍ فِي عَرَضٍ وَلا مَالٍ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، إِلا عِيسَى ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ يَحْيَى
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), prices and rates increased greatly. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: O Messenger of Allah! Fix prices for us. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Himself is the One Who fixes prices, He controls everything and He opens (things) as well, and I hope that when I meet Allah, there will be no injustice or excess upon me for which anyone would demand from me regarding his honor or wealth."
