Hadith 490
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ ، بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَعَجَّلَ ، قَالَ : أَمْهِلْ حَتَّى تَسْتَحِدَّ الْمُغِيبَةُ وَتَمْتَشِطُ الشَّعِثَةُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، إِلا هُشَيْمٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says: I was with the Prophet (peace be upon him) on a journey. When we neared Madinah, I hurried to go home, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Wait! Until the wife whose husband is absent uses a razor and the disheveled-haired one combs her hair."
