Hadith 489
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ أَبُو لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَدْهَمَ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، حَدَّثَتْنَا أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ ، قَالَتْ : " زَفَفْنَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ أَخْرَجَ عُسًّا مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَقَالَتْ : لا أَشْتَهِيهِ ، فَقَالَ : لا تَجْمَعِي جُوعًا وَكَذِبًا ، ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي الْقَدَحَ ، فَجَعَلْتُ أُدِيرُ الْقَدَحَ فِي فَمِي ، وَمَا أَشْرَبُهُ إِلا لِتُصِيبَ شَفَتَيَّ أَثَرَ شَفَتِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَنَا وَامْرَأَتَهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَدْهَمَ ، إِلا أَبُو لَيْلَى ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ
Sayyida Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) says: We adorned and sent one of the wives to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after marriage. When we went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he took out a glass of milk and drank from it, then gave it to his wife. She said: I do not wish to drink. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not combine hunger and falsehood." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me the cup after drinking from it. I passed it around to everyone, and I touched it to my lips so that the traces from the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) lips would reach me. Then we left the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his wife and returned.
