Hadith 298
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ الْفَقِيهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاةَ ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ ذَنْبًا ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَامَ الرَّجُلُ فَأَعَادَ الْقَوْلَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا هَذِهِ الصَّلاةَ ، وَأَحْسَنْتَ لَهَا الطُّهُورَ ؟ ، قَالَ : بَلَى ، قَالَ : فَإِنَّهَا كَفَّارَةُ ذَنْبِكَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، إِلا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were waiting for prayer in the mosque with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man stood up and said: A sin has been committed by me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished speaking, that person stood up again and repeated his statement. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did you perform this prayer with us and make ablution for it properly?" He said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then this has become an expiation for your sin."
