Hadith 243
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى شِيرَانُ الْقَاضِي الرَّامَهُرْمُزِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَكَّائِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الرَّحِيلُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، أَخُو زُهَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ رَجُلا يُصَلِّي يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِالنَّاسِ ، ثُمَّ أُحَرِّقَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنْهَا بُيُوتَهُمْ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الرَّحِيلِ ، إِلا زِيَادٌ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I intended to order a man to lead the people in the Friday prayer, then go to those who stay behind and burn their houses."
