The chapter on the importance of trustworthiness
Hadith 229
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرُّمَّانِيُّ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَكِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "أَوَّلُ مَا يُرْفَعُ مِنَ النَّاسِ الأَمَانَةُ ، وَآخِرُ مَا يَبْقَى الصَّلاةُ ، وَرُبَّ مُصَلٍّ ، لا خَيْرَ فِيهِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، إِلا حَكِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْمُعَافَى ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ عُمَرَ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The first thing to be taken away from the hearts of people will be trustworthiness, and the last thing to remain will be prayer. There are many who pray, yet there is no good in them."
