Prohibition of voluntary prayers after the iqamah
Hadith 195
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ، بِعَبَادَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ "رَأَى رَجُلا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيِ الْغَدَاةِ حِينَ أَخَذَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ ، فَغَمَزَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : أَلا كَانَ هَذَا قَبْلَ ذَا "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، إِلا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a man performing the Sunnah prayers of Fajr while the muezzin had already begun the iqamah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, tapped him on the shoulders and said: "Was this person not here before this?"
