Hadith 161
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى النَّهْرُتِيرِيُّ ، بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ الدَّهَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَمْرٍو الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، وَعِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "الإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدِ الأَئِمَّةَ وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، إِلا الْوَلِيدُ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The imam is responsible and the muezzin is trustworthy. O Allah! Guide the imams and forgive the callers to prayer."
