Statement about the virtue of Friday
Hadith 131
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ فُورَكٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ غُرَابٍ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي الأَخْضَرِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمٌ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ عِيدًا فَمَنْ أَتَى الْجُمُعَةَ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ طِيبٌ فَلْيَمَسَّ مِنْهُ ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، إِلا صَالِحٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ غُرَابٍ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a day which Allah Almighty has appointed as an Eid, so whoever comes for Jumu'ah should perform ghusl, and if he has perfume, he should apply it to his body, and he should make the use of miswak obligatory upon himself."
