Supplication after hearing the call to prayer
Hadith 126
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ : اللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ ، وَالصَّلاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ ، وَابْعَثْهُ الْمَقَامَ الْمَحْمُودَ الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ ، حَلَّتْ لَهُ شَفَاعَتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever recites this supplication after hearing the call to prayer, my intercession becomes obligatory for him: ﴿O Allah! Lord of this perfect call and the established prayer, grant Muhammad the means and virtue, and raise him to the praised station which You have promised him.﴾”
