Hadith 117
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْمَنْبِجِيُّ بِمَنْبِجَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ ، مَوْلَى آلِ سُرَاقَةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، "تَوَضَّأَ فَتَمَضْمَضَ ثَلاثًا ، وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلاثًا ، وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاثًا ، وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثَلاثًا ثَلاثًا ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَاحِدَةً ، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، إِلا ابْنُهُ ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا طَلْحَةُ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَطَّافٌ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) perform ablution; he rinsed his mouth three times, put water into his nose three times, washed his face three times, washed both hands three times, wiped (his head) once, and washed both feet three times. Then he said: In this manner I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution.
