Statement about a woman experiencing a wet dream
Hadith 100
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ صَاحِبُ الطَّعَامِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَاحِ الْجَرْجَرَائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبِ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْ أُمُّ بَنِي أَبِي طَلْحَةَ وَهِيَ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ هَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ مِنْ غُسْلٍ إِذَا رَأَتْ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ ، فَضَحِكْتُ ، وَقُلْتُ : أَتَحْتَلِمُ الْمَرْأَةُ ؟ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوْلا ذَلِكَ لَمَا كَانَ يشبه أُمَّهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ رَوْحِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، إِلا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَاحِ ، وَلا كَتَبْنَاهُ إِلَّا عَنْ هَذَا الشَّيْخِ
Narrated from Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the mother of the sons of Abu Talhah came, whose name was Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her), and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Allah does not shy away from the truth. Is there a bath (ghusl) required for a woman if she sees in a dream what a man sees?" Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I started laughing, wondering if a woman could also have a wet dream. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If that were not the case, the child would not resemble his mother."
