Al-Mu'jam al-Saghir

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi رضي الله عنه narrates: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Protect yourselves from minor sins. The example of minor sins is like a people who went into a valley; this one brought a stick and that one brought a stick, until they gathered enough firewood to bake their bread. And when a person with minor sins is seized, those sins destroy him.”
