Virtue of patience upon losing eyesight
Hadith 994
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَبُو زَيْدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ أَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ بَصَرَهُ ، فَصَبَرَ وَاحْتَسَبَ كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ وَاجِبًا أَنْ لا تَرَى عَيْنَاهُ النَّارَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، إِلا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ وَهْبُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever loses his eyesight and is patient seeking reward, it becomes incumbent upon Allah that his eyes shall not see the Fire."
