حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ السَّرَّاجُ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْمِشْرَقِيِّ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، "أُتِيَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ بِجُبْنَةٍ ، فَأَخَذَ السِّكِّينَ فَقَطَعَ ، وَقَالَ : كُلُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، إِلا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the expedition of Tabuk, a cheese was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He took a knife and cut it, then said: "Eat by the command of Allah."

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit: Items prepared by disbelievers and polytheists, in which there is no suspicion of admixture with anything unlawful, are halal (permissible) and pure (tayyib).
Because the original ruling regarding things is permissibility (halal), and for something to be unlawful (haram), a Shari’ah-based evidence is necessary.
However, from an economic perspective, as Muslims, we should avoid items produced by non-Muslims and should promote the products of the people of Islam.
