Description of the prohibition of punishing beyond the limits set by Allah
Hadith 930

وَبِهِ وَبِهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "تَجَافُوا عَنْ عُقُوبَةِ ذِي الْمُرُوءَةِ ، إِلا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) with the same chain, he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Refrain from punishing a person of dignity except for the limits set by Allah."
