Description of the virtue and greatness of Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 885
حَدَّثَنَا لُؤْلُؤٌ الرُّومِيُّ ، مَوْلَى أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طُولُونَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ الْجُدِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، وَمَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَمَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَيُصْلِحُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ يُونُسَ ، إِلا هُشَيْمٌ ، وَلا رَوَاهُ عَنْهُ إِلا ابْنُ شَيْبَةَ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الرَّبِيعُ
Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the pulpit, and with him was Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was saying: "This son of mine is a leader, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will soon bring reconciliation between two great groups of Muslims through him."
