Hadith 869
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ النَّسَائِيُّ ، بِسُرَّ مَنْ رَأَى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَكْثَمَ الْقَاضِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السِّينَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَقِيلٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يُكْثِرُ الذِّكْرَ ، وَيَقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ ، وَيُطِيلُ الصَّلاةَ ، وَيُقَصِّرُ الْخُطْبَةَ ، وَلا يَأْنَفُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ مَعَ الأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ يَقْضِي حَوَائِجَهُمَا "، لا يُرْوَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would frequently remember Allah and speak very little of idle talk. He would perform long prayers and deliver short sermons, and he did not dislike walking with widows and the poor, and he would fulfill their needs.
