Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during his illness. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated him beside himself on his own bed and said: "Dear uncle! May Allah elevate you." Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is also seeking permission outside. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let him come in." He came in, and with him were Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both). Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! These are your children. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Dear uncle! They are your children as well." He said: I love them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah love you as you love them."
