Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us at the place of Jabiyah and said: Just as I am standing among you, in the same way the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us and said: “Honor my Companions, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then falsehood will spread, to the extent that a man will go about giving testimony though it has not been requested from him, and he will go about swearing oaths though he has not been asked to swear. So whoever wants to be in the center of Paradise should remain attached to the congregation of Muslims, for the devil is with the solitary person, and he is farther away from two people. Beware! No man should be alone with a woman, for the third among them is the devil. Beware! Whoever is pleased by his good deed and saddened by his bad deed, then he is a believer.”

´It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:` 'Umar bin Khattab addressed us at Jabiyah and said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up among us as I stand among you, and said: 'Honor my Companions for my sake, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then lying will prevail until a man will give testimony without being asked to do so, and he will swear an oath without being asked to do so.' ”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Taking care of me means that, considering their connection to me, love for them and maintaining their respect should be upheld.
➋ The Tabi‘in and Tabi‘ Tabi‘in are also worthy of respect; therefore, loving them and respecting them is necessary.
➌ In the eras of the Companions (Sahabah), the Tabi‘in, and the Tabi‘ Tabi‘in, goodness was predominant and evil was subdued. Among the common people, the moral and behavioral corruptions that appeared later were not present. Even the intellectual errors that arose in those times did not have the severity that developed among later people.
➍ The meaning of not seeking testimony is that witnesses will be ready to give testimony, but due to their moral weakness, they will not be trustworthy; therefore, they will not be accepted or preferred as witnesses, and even their oaths will not be relied upon.
➎ A Muslim should strive to avoid being counted among such evil people about whom predictions have been made in the ahadith, and should improve his character so that his testimony and oath are trustworthy.
