Umairah bin Sa’d says: I saw Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit, he was adjuring the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to testify as to who had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) what he said at Ghadir Khumm. Twelve men stood up, among them Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id, and Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with them), and they testified that they had heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “O Allah! Whomever I am his master, Ali is also his master. O Allah! Befriend whoever befriends him, and be the enemy of whoever is hostile to him.”
