Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a clan of Banu Najjar, and some girls were beating the duff and saying: «نَحْنُقَيْنَاتُمِنْبَنِيالنَّجَّارِفَحَبَّذَامُحَمَّدٌمِنْجَارٍ» "We are the girls of Banu Najjar. What an excellent neighbor Muhammad (peace be upon him) is to us." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «اللَّهُيَعْلَمُأَنَّقَلْبِييُحِبُّكُمْ» "Allah knows that my heart loves you."

´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik:` that the Prophet passed by some part of Al-Madinah and saw some girls beating their Daff And singing, saying: “We are girls from Banu Najjar what an excellent neighbor is Muhammad.” The Prophet said: “Allah knows that you are dear to me.”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ It is permissible for young girls to play the duff (tambourine), but one should avoid other musical instruments.
➋ An honorable elder may express affection to young girls with appropriate words, provided there is no risk of misunderstanding.
➌ The words “Allah knows” carry the meaning of an oath. It is permissible to use words of oath for emphasis, even if there is no situation of doubt or suspicion.
➍ The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) loved the Ansar because they made great sacrifices for Islam. For the believers as well, loving the Ansar is a requirement of their faith.
