Description of the wives of the people of Paradise
Hadith 815
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رِفَاعَةَ عُمَارَةُ بْنُ وَثِيمَةَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "إِنَّ أَزْوَاجَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ لَيُغَنِّينَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ بِأَحْسَنِ أَصْوَاتٍ سَمِعَهَا أَحَدٌ قَطُّ إِنَّ مِمَّا يُغَنِّينَ : نَحْنُ الْخَيِّرَاتُ الْحِسَانُ أَزْوَاجُ قَوْمٍ كِرَامٍ يَنْظُرْنَ بِقُرَّةِ أَعْيَانٍ ، وَإِنَّ مِمَّا يُغَنِّينَ بِهِ : نَحْنُ الْخَالِدَاتُ فَلا يُمِتْنَهْ ، نَحْنُ الآمِنَاتُ فَلا يَخَفْنَهْ ، نَحْنُ الْمُقِيمَاتُ فَلا يَظْعَنَّ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، إِلا مُحَمَّدٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The wives of the people of Paradise will sing to their husbands in such beautiful voices that no one has ever heard such voices before. Among their songs will be this song: «نَحْنُ الْخَيِّرَاتُ الْحِسَانُ اَزْوَاجُ قَوْمٍ كِرَامٍ يَنْظُرْنَ بِقُوَّةِ أَعْيَانٍ» 'We are the best and most beautiful. We are the wives of honorable people. We look at them with cool eyes.' They will also sing to them: «نَحْنُ الْخَالِدَاتِ فَلَا يُمِتْنَهُ نَحْنُ الْآمِنَاتُ فَلَا يَخَفْنَهُ نَحْنُ الْمُقِيمَاتُ فَلَا يَظْعَنَّ» 'We are everlasting, we will never die. We are safe, we will never fear. We will always remain here, so we are those who will never depart.'"
