Statement about the creation of the soul
Hadith 8
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ الْحَذَّاءُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابٌ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُنَيْسُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ النَّسَمَةَ ، فَجَامَعَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ طَارَ مَاؤُهُ فِي كُلِّ عِرْقٍ وَعَصَبٍ مِنْهَا ، فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ السَّابِعِ أَحْضَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ كُلَّ عِرْقٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ آدَمَ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ سورة الانفطار آية 8 "، لا يُرْوَى عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ ابْنُ سَوَّارٍ
Sayyiduna Malik bin Huwairith (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah wants to create a soul, a man has intercourse with his wife, and his fluid spreads from every vein and muscle. When the seventh day comes, Allah brings every vein between him and Adam (peace be upon him) present." Then he recited this verse: "In whatever form He willed, He assembled you."
