Explanation of the reward for those afflicted with calamities in the world on the Day of Judgment
Hadith 769
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ الْفَقِيهُ قَلَنْسُوَةُ ، بِمِصْرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُهَيْرٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَغْرَاءَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "يَوَدُّ أَهْلُ الْعَافِيَةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّ لُحُومَهُمْ قَدْ قُرِضَتْ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ لِمَا يَرَوْنَهُ لأَهْلِ الْبَلاءِ مِنْ جَزِيلِ الثَّوَابِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، إِلا أَبُو زُهَيْرٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَغْرَاءَ
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who remained healthy in the world will wish on the Day of Resurrection that their flesh had been cut with scissors, because they will see the immense reward given to those who suffered afflictions in the world."
