Explanation of a sign of the signs of the Hour
Hadith 762
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ سَلامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "لا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَمْلِكَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي يُواطِئُ اسْمُهُ اسْمِي ، يَمْلأُ الأَرْضَ عَدْلا وَقِسْطًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، إِلا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The world will not come to an end until a man from my Ahl al-Bayt becomes a ruler, whose name will correspond to my name. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness just as it had previously been filled with oppression and injustice."
