Explanation of a sign of the signs of the Hour
Hadith 761
حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَبِيرِ بْنُ الْمُعَافَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ ذَرِيحٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "مِنِ اقْتِرَابِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يُرَى الْهِلالُ قِبَلا ، فَيُقَالُ : لِلَيْلَتَيْنِ ، وَأَنْ تُتَّخَذَ الْمَسَاجِدَ طُرُقًا ، وَأَنْ يَظْهَرَ مَوْتُ الْفُجَاءَةِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، إِلا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ ذَرِيحٍ ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا شَرِيكٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَبْدُ الْكَبِيرِ
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A sign of the nearness of the Day of Judgment is that when the moon of the first night is seen, it will be said that this is of two nights, and the mosques will be made as pathways, and sudden death will become widespread."
