حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرِّفَاعِيُّ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ الضَّبِّيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ الأَحْوَصُ بْنُ جَوَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُعَيْرُ بْنُ الْخِمْسِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ صُنِعَ إِلَيْهِ مَعْرُوفٌ ، فَقَالَ لِفَاعِلِهِ : جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ، فَقَدْ أَبْلَغَ فِي الثَّنَاءِ "
Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If someone does a favor to a person, and he says: «جزاک اللہ خیرا», then he has fully expressed his gratitude."

It is stated in Subul al-Salam that mentioning this hadith here does not have much relevance to Kitab al-Ayman wa al-Nudhur (The Book of Oaths and Vows).
In reality, its proper place is in Kitab al-Jami‘, under the chapter of Etiquette (Bab al-Adab).
