Explanation of the virtue of a slave who obeys his master and Allah
Hadith 744
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدَوَيْهِ الصَّفَّارُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدَوَيْهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "عَبْدٌ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ وَأَطَاعَ مَوَالِيَهُ يُدْخِلُهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَ مَوَالِيهِ ، فَيَقُولُ السَّيِّدُ : رَبِّ هَذَا كَانَ عَبْدِي فِي الدُّنْيَا ، فَيَقُولُ : جَازَيْتُهُ بِعَمَلِهِ ، وَجَازَيْتُكَ بِعَمَلِكَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ يُونُسَ ، إِلا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The slave who obeyed Allah Almighty and also obeyed his masters, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise before his masters. His master will say: O Allah! He was my slave in the world, so Allah Almighty will say: I have given you the reward for your deeds, and I have given him the reward for his deeds."
