Prohibition of laughing at the passing of wind
Hadith 703
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْخَيْرِ بْنِ جُمُعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِنَبَةَ أَحْمَدُ فِي الْقَوْمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ "وَعَظَ فِي الضَّحِكِ مِنَ الضَّرْطَةِ ، قَالَ : عَلَى مَا يَضْحَكُ أَحَدُكُمْ مِمَّا يَصْنَعُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، إِلا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised the one who laughed at the passing of wind and said: "Why does any man among you laugh at something that he himself does?"
