Hadith 702
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَنَسٍ كَثِيرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ أَتَاهُ اللَّهُ وَجْهًا حَسَنًا وَاسْمًا حَسَنًا ، وَجَعَلَهُ فِي مَوْضِعٍ غَيْرِ شَائِنٍ ، فَهُوَ مِنْ صَفْوَةِ اللَّهِ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ "، وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : قَالَ الشَّاعِرُ : أَيْنَ شَرْطُ النَّبِيِّ إِذْ قَالَ يَوْمًا فَابْتَغُوا الْخَيْرَ فِي حِسَانِ الْوُجُوهِ لا يُرْوَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ كَثِيرٌ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever Allah grants a good face, a good name, and places him in a faultless position, then he is among Allah's favored creation." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: A poet said: «أين شرط النبي إذ قال يوما» «فابغوا الخير في حسان الوجوه» "Where is this condition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he said: Seek virtue and goodness in beautiful faces."
